Slava lives in the North end of Moscow, 20 minutes from the Sheremetyevo airport. Positive, cheerful, and helpful, he is particularly recommended for the anxious first-time traveller to Russia. His rate are pretty much standard: $40 for Sheremetyevo, $50 for Domodedovo, $70 between the two airports, $40 for train station pickup. I honestly tried to talk him down to $40 for Domodedovo but he said no because it is 40 km from the city center, which is noticeably more than Sheremetyevo.
Here Slava's car is shown just back from a trip to Sergiev Posad. Normally, his vehicle is clean and inviting.

You may wonder what I'm doing on this list of lowly drivers. The answer is that having you as my captive audience generates sales that keep all 4-6 of us busy.
This old Renault Encore has once carried 5 passengers, their dog, and all their possessions, although he would not want to repeat that feat too often.
His "new" car is a Russian-made Volga. Originally designed in the mid-50s as a military jeep it was re-made into a mid-level bureaucrat's car in the 70s. The engine is based on late 30s German developments. They are still manufactured, and are now the car of preference for taxi use. Comfortable ride, lots of space for passengers, excellent reputation for savety. PARTICULARLY SUITABLE FOR LONG-DISTANCE TRAVEL.Contact Pasha

Despite his young age he has been described to me as a reliable and conservative driver. Can be asked to run errands eg. shopping, tickets etc.......By the way, I want to compliment Sasha and Marina. They have both been very helpful, and incredibly polite. Sasha is a great driver...he even slows down to let people cross the road, which is something you never see in Moscow!Rick

Stands out for his old fashioned "Soviet" attitude, i.e. reliable and shy about taking money from his clients. Able to work any time of day and night, will accept any reasonable price, happy to go anywhere. Professional driver, safe and reliable. No English but, same as Sasha, works in tandem with Marina. Her number is 775-9776. Andrei is a family man, with a car full of toys, skates and other evidence of baby boom Moscow is going through.
